1 day trek + 1 day kayak namha river & national park
Two days (on nights) trip through the pleasantly shady paths and rivers of a life-bursting jungle. The combination of hiking and kayaking winds you up and down the pristine nature of Namha National Protected Area and its surroundings. Get ready for a wide range of stunning views revealing some of the secrets of the jungle and occasionally popping up isolated and picturesque villages allowing you to immerse in a forgotten way of life

DAY 1 - TREKKING
09:00. Meeting point at the office. 30 minutes ride by tuk-tuk to the beginning of the hiking trail.
10:00. 4-5 hours hike and 500 meters of gradual elevation to Nalan village. The walk starts through a thick rain- forest and until lunch time is lead by a guide from the local communities. In the afternoon the trail enters an impressive and awe-inspiring primary jungle eventually giving way to a tiny oasis of rice paddies, banana trees and cultivated land.
03:00. Reaching Nalan village. Almost completely cut off from the rest of Laos and existing in a 'jungle bubble' it presents a great possibility to experience the unique culture of Khamu people. Take a rest, swim in the river and/ or have a walk around. Sleeping in an Eco-lodge.
DAY 2 - KAYAK / RAFTING
09:00. Waking up and breakfast.
10:00. 4-5 hours kayaking. After basic instructions on kayaking techniques and safety, the paddling starts in Namha river which runs through the heart of the National park. In the first two hours you take two short and refreshing breaks in Khamu villages situated on the river bank. After lunch the kayaking continues through several exciting rapids and shady canopy tunnels until it joins Namtha river.
03:00. Getting to Houay Leuat village – another small and charming Khamu settlement. From there it is an hour ride back to Luang Namtha.
